Terms

The rules for using Brainlag Code and paying for Premium, in plain English. Last updated 5 October 2026.

Who we are

Brainlag Code (code.brainlag.space) is part of Brainlag (brainlag.space), run by a sole trader in the United Kingdom. Contact: [email protected].

Free use

The free lessons, the playground and the free projects can be used without an account and without paying. Code you write runs in your own browser; we do not see it unless you choose to save progress to an account, and even then we store which lessons you finished, not your code.

Accounts

A Brainlag account is one email address and password for brainlag.space and Brainlag Code. Keep your password to yourself. You can delete your account at any time from the account page on brainlag.space; if you have a Premium subscription, cancel it first.

Premium

Premium is a subscription that gives the signed-in account access to the Premium lessons, challenges and projects while it is active. The price is shown on the pricing page before you pay (£7.99 a month or £59 a year, in GBP). Payment is taken by Stripe when you subscribe and then at the start of each new month or year until you cancel.

If you are under 18, ask a parent or guardian before subscribing, and let them make the payment.

Cancelling

You can cancel at any time from your account page (Manage billing). Your subscription will not renew, and Premium keeps working until the end of the period you have already paid for. After that the account is on the free plan. Your progress is kept.

Your 14-day right to cancel, and refunds

UK law gives you 14 days from the day you subscribe to cancel a contract for digital content and get your money back. Premium content is supplied straight away, so when you subscribe you are asking us to start immediately, and you acknowledge that you lose the 14-day right to cancel once you start using Premium content.

Even so, if you subscribed by mistake or Premium is not what you expected, email us within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund that payment. Renewals are not refunded, but you can cancel before a renewal at any time. If a refund is made, Premium access ends straight away. Nothing here affects your statutory rights.

If a payment fails

If a renewal payment fails, Stripe will try again over the following days and Premium stays on for 7 days while that happens. If the payment still does not go through, the subscription ends and the account returns to the free plan.

Changes

We may change prices or these terms. A price change never applies to a period you have already paid for, and we will tell subscribers by email at least 30 days before a new price applies to them, so you can cancel first.

Fair use

Premium is for the person who owns the account. Do not share your login or copy Premium lessons, solutions or projects to other websites. We may end an account that does, and refund any unused part of the current period.

The boring but important part

We work hard to keep lessons correct and the site running, but it is provided as it is, and we cannot promise it will always be available or error free. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
